Thank you for your interest in bringing a Girls on the Run (GOTR) program to your local school or facility! Girls on the Run is a youth development program for girls, grades 3-8, that uses physical activity as a tool to introduce healthy lifestyle choices. The focus of the program is on increasing the girls’ self-respect and enhancing their confidence through an experienced based curriculum facilitated by trained Coach Mentors. We hold our program in the spring and fall seasons. The season runs for 10 weeks, with the girls meeting twice a week for an hour and 30 min each session. Further reading can be found on our elementary and middle school programs pages.

How do I know my school or community is ready to host a GOTR team?

  • Does your school have a classroom and/or outdoor space available for practice?
  • Is this space available twice a week for 10 weeks?
  • Do parents, teachers and community members know about the GOTR mission?
  • Is there excitement for the program?
  • Are there at least 2 people who have expressed interest in volunteer coaching?
  • Is there a designated site liaison at your school or community center who can communicate with GOTR staff to make your team a possibility?

If you can answer "yes" to the questions below, you are ready to have a GOTR team! New teams are organized several months before each season. Registration for the Fall 2017 season is closed. The registration for the Spring 2018 season will be open in November 2017. Please check back with us in November!
